Fiona is a patient and adaptable tutor who enjoys working with the specific needs of each child she tutors. She has a wealth of experience teaching Chemistry across the state and independent sectors.
Fiona sees that her primary role as a tutor is to understand the needs of the child and to work together with them to help achieve their goals. She aims to support each child by increasing their subject knowledge and depth of understanding, supporting them in applying this knowledge to successfully answer exam questions and furthermore increasing their confidence.
She tailors each lesson and teaching style to the student’s needs. Whilst helping with subject content Fiona also supports students develop revision plans and where applicable is able to help with personal statements and support with university applications and interviews.
Fiona tutors the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology at GCSE (Covering OCR, AQA and IGCSE), AS and A2 Chemistry (OCR, AQA, IB and EDEXCEL). She is also a qualified and experienced teacher of English as a Foreign Language.
