Watling Tutors Book Club

Calling all Year 11 book lovers! Are you looking to broaden your literary horizon? Or perhaps you’re studying English next year and know you need to read but not quite motivated to do so?

This summer we’re running a really exciting initiative at our brand new Watling Tutors Classroom in Radlett.

In preparation for English A-level (or just for fun!) we’re running our first ever **book club!**

Starting just after your assessments end in May half-term, and running through until August, we’ll be reading…and then discussing, delving, analysing, disagreeing…to our heart’s content!

The full programme costs £125 and will include:

  • All texts and additional resources
  • A moderated Whatsapp group
  • Four 75 minute meetings
    • Wednesday 16th June 5.30pm
    • Thursday 1st July 5.30pm
    • Thursday 29th July 5.30pm
    • Thursday 26th August 5.30pm

There will be an option to join online if students are not able to attend in person for all of the dates.

After spending the last two years studying a GCSE syllabus focusing solely on UK writers, we’re going global! We’ll be exploring some of the greatest works of the twentieth century by Nobel Prize winning writers from the US, Mexico and Canada: Ernest Hemingway, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Alice Munro.
