Get Ahead! A-level Taster Workshops: English Literature

Join us for a two hour session covering three overlapping areas of typical ‘A’ level study: integrating context into an argument; engaging with individual critics; and understanding and applying different critical theories.

Understanding these key principles before embarking on the A-level study course will enable students to begin their studies with increased confidence and a secure understanding of the differences between GCSE and A-level English Literature, so that they can hit the ground running.

The workshop will be run by Dr Michael Hooper, one of our English tutors. Michael has a BA, MA and a PhD in English Literature, as well as a PGCE in English and Drama from the University of Cambridge, and has been teaching and tutoring for over 25 years. He is also an independent scholar and author specialising in American literature.

Date: Monday 23rd August

Time: 11am – 1pm

Location: Watling Tutors Classroom, Unit 21D Battlers Green Farm, Common Lane, Radlett WD7 8PH

The cost of this 2 hour session is £72.

At the moment, we are only working on a maximum capacity of 8 students owing to our commitment to being Covid secure. This is subject to change, depending on government guidance, but we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
