Megan is a qualified English and PE teacher who has 5 years of teaching experience in East London, one of the most challenging areas to teach in the UK. She completed a BA in Sport, Exercise and Physical Activity from the University of Durham, achieving a first class degree, and then went on to complete a PGCE in Secondary English at Canterbury Christchurch University. Currently, Megan is Director of Sport, Health and Wellbeing at a London school, where she was solely responsible for creating and implementing a new Health and Wellbeing Curriculum which has been running for two years.
Moreover, as a qualified AQA English examiner, Megan has an in-depth understanding of the English curriculum and its demands, enabling her to directly tailor her lessons to the demands of the examinations. This explains her being described as an “excellent teacher, communicator, and organiser” by parents, as she is a very focused and knowledgeable tutor.
Of course, as an English teacher she loves education and books, especially fiction – but Megan is also passionate about sports, namely basketball, netball and gymnastics, having competed in all three at club level or higher. She also enjoys travelling, and recently returned to the UK from a three month sabbatical break to the USA at the end of 2019.
