Since completing his PGCE in Secondary Mathematics in 2019, Gavin has worked at different secondary schools across London, where he has helped children to achieve excellent pass rates with their GCSEs and A-Levels. Recently, Gavin took on the new role of Numeracy coordinator in his school and developed a whole-school approach to help implement the teaching of numeracy across all year groups. Gavin also held the role of Pupil Premium coordinator recently too, through which he set up intervention groups for disadvantaged pupils to access additional teaching support.
In addition to his wide range of teaching experience, Gavin has a Masters in Mathematics from the University of Sheffield. He also spent a year studying abroad in Australia, where he specialised in Statistics and has attended professional development courses including the STEM summer conference and the Craig Barton summer conference. One referee noted how Gavin is “knowledgeable, engaging, and always keen to learn more about maths” while a former colleague explained how Gavin is “well respected by pupils.”
Gavin is a fantastic teacher. In every lesson, he helps my daughter to feel more and more confident with her GCSE maths.
