Qualifications:
BSc Maths and Science              General Engineering

Experience:
21 years of teaching

In the last 21 years Paul has tutored students of all abilities from age 12 to adult in GCSE, A-Level and University level maths. He has developed a unique approach which has a 98% exam success rate, and is more intuitive, confidence inspiring, intriguing and advanced than more traditional school methods. Paul’s goal is to teach the understanding of maths, rather than rote memorisation for exam passing. This leads to an appreciation of the subject, giving context and relevance, and maybe a liking or love for it.

Previous students have included school children, pupils with special needs, airmen of the RAF, Oxford undergraduates, PhD candidates, engineers and children of actors and world leaders.  With a first degree in Mathematics and a second degree in Engineering, Paul is now undertaking a Masters in Space Science. He therefore still maintains a good understanding of what it is like to be a student. Paul is also Associate Lecturer in Mathematics & Engineering for the Open University.

References and testimonials praise his “excellent subject knowledge” and “would not hesitate to recommend him” to other families
