Year 2 Maths and English Sunday Sessions 

We run groups for Year 2 students on term-time Sunday mornings.

These hour-long sessions include a mix of Maths and English topics, focused on cementing pupils’ understanding of both subjects, and boosting confidence throughout the school year

Year 2 sessions will take place between 11.55am – 12.55pm on Sunday mornings.

Our next block of sessions will take place on the following dates:
Sunday 6th November
Sunday 13th November
Sunday 20th November
Sunday 27th November
Sunday 4th December
Sunday 11th December

Each session costs £30 and the total cost for this 6-week block is £180.

All sessions are taught by a qualified and experienced teacher, and a block of sessions includes:

• Initial assessment of your child’s progress and individual target setting

• Interim verbal feedback

• Final assessment and mini progress report.

It is possible to join a group mid-way through a block but this would not include an initial assessment.

Group sessions will take place for a maximum of 8 students to ensure that we are able to give individualised attention to all participants.

Week 3	Times tables – 2s, 5s, 10s  Addition  Add two digit numbers using an efficient strategy.  Add two digit numbers and ones.  Add two digit numbers and tens.	Writing Spelling – adding the suffix –ed  Writing – write expanded noun phrases.
Week 4	Times tables – 2s, 5s, 10s Subtraction Subtract two digit numbers using an efficient strategy.  Subtract two digit numbers and ones.  Subtract two digit numbers and tens	Writing Reading – fluency and comprehension  Writing – use prepositions.
Week 5	Problem solving  Solving addition and subtraction worded problems.	Writing Spelling – adding the suffix –ing  Writing – use co-ordinating conjunctions (and, but and so).
