22 years of teaching 8 years Head of Chemistry
Cecil has a BSc and a PhD in Chemistry from King’s College London. He is an experienced teacher with over 22 years of experience teaching Chemistry to Key Stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level pupils at state and independent schools for all major exam boards. As a result, Cecil has an in-depth understanding of all the exam boards and their requirements and he has also supported mature students with A-Level and GCSE resits. At one of his former schools, Cecil was the head of Chemistry for eight years and led the department, where he took on new challenges and led the intensive A-Level Chemistry course.
Before beginning a career in teaching in 1998, Cecil previously worked as an academic and industrial research chemist in both the UK and USA but he found more enthusiasm for teaching secondary school pupils. As a result, referees and testimonials note how Cecil ‘always builds good relationships with his students’ and ‘an outstanding and inspiring teacher of chemistry’.
Cecil helped my son to become much more confident with his GCSE Chemistry exam. Cecil went above and beyond to supply resources and guidance.
